Eric Schwarz 

Eric is Executive Vice President of Rust Omni and has been a Senior Bankruptcy Consultant since 2003. A Certified Public Accountant, he spent the previous 21 years in financial management positions while at a Big-4 accounting firm and 2 large multi-location retail companies. Eric works closely with clients to educate and prepare them for a possible chapter 11 filing. He also coordinates the reconciliation of claims and assists with the preparation of financial filings with the court and the Office of the US Trustee. In addition, he is responsible for the day-to-day case administration of client engagements. Eric has a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Brigham Young University.

Paul Deutch 

Paul is Executive Managing Director, has been with Rust Omni since 2009 and manages the firm’s New York office. He works closely with clients to ensure that they receive high-quality services tailored to their unique needs. A graduate of Syracuse University, Paul later earned his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law. Following his clerkship with the Honorable Conrad B. Duberstein, Chief Bankruptcy Judge for the Eastern District of New York, Paul embarked on a fourteen-year legal career, focusing on all aspects of reorganization and liquidation proceedings including the representation of debtors, creditors, asset purchasers and lenders in many large and complex chapter 11 cases including Lehman Brothers, Calpine Energy, Integrated Health Services, Inc., M. Fabrikant & Sons, Inc., Ameripol Synpol Corporation, Charter Communications, Inc., Mirant Corp., Caldor Corp., eLot, Inc., Enron Corp., Star Diamond, AT&T Latin America, and Colt Mercantile.

Nellwyn Voorhies-Kantak, Esq. 

Nellwyn joined Omni in 2012 as Vice-President of Sales and Marketing. She received her law degree from UC Berkeley’s Boalt Hall school of Law in 1993, after externing with the Honorable Leslie Tchaikovsky in the Northern District of California. Before joining the world of claims management Nellwyn practiced bankruptcy law for thirteen years representing debtors, creditors and committees in case throughout the United States, including Kenny Rogers Roasters, Stateline Hotel, Daewoo Motor America, C&R Clothiers, and the Baptist Foundation of Arizona. Nellwyn is responsible for maintaining relationships with clients and ensuring that the Omni team is able to assist them in every aspect of the restructuring process. She maintains an active presence in the industry, serving as Vice-Chair of the American Bankruptcy Institute West Regional Endowment, Vice-Chair of the American Bar Association (ABA) Claims Subcommittee of the Business Bankruptcy Committee of the Business Law Section and Co-Chair of the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC) Southern California Network.

Brian Gelinas 

Brian has led the firm’s information technology department as IT Manager since 2001. During his tenure, Brian has been instrumental in the development of database applications, website development, and data management operations. His department has built the infrastructure, processes and relationships necessary to bring together data from disparate sources, facilitating in-depth analysis of complex information, rapid turnaround of custom reports and highly flexible, customizable solicitation and disbursement tools. Brian has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Brian Osborne 

Brian is President of Rust Omni. Since 1988, Brian has provided case management services in some of the nation’s largest chapter 11 cases. He has worked extensively with attorneys, debtors, creditors, creditors committees, bankruptcy professionals, numerous Bankruptcy Courts and United States Trustee’s nationwide. Since he joined Rust Omni in 2004, Brian has provided high-level consulting services while directing the day-to-day case administration of key client engagements. He is very active in the bankruptcy community and has contributed to the bankruptcy programs at the California Bankruptcy Forum and National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges. Prior to his joining Rust Omni, Brian worked at the law firm of Pachulski, Stang, Ziehl & Jones LLP. Brian has a Bachelor’s Degree in English from San Diego State University.

Catherine Rojo 

Catherine has been Office Manager for the firm since 1994. She brings her knowledge and experience to manage tasks such as billing, collections, human resources, insurance, office services and document management. She interfaces with the Offices of the U.S. Trustee and the offices of the Bankruptcy Court nationwide, as well as with clients and their professionals. Catherine is an integral part of the firm’s day to day business operations.

Mitch Ryan 

Mitch is Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the firm, and is responsible for advising industry members on the benefits and services offered by Rust/Omni, as well as maintaining relationships with our valued clients. He has over 15 years of management, sales, and marketing experience in the restructuring case management industry, and is a 10 year veteran of project management in the engineering field. Mitch has a Bachelor’s degree in foreign language and is a former U.S. Army Ranger. He is active in the Turnaround Management Association, and is on the Board of Directors of the American Bankruptcy Institute.

Katie Nownes 

Katie has been a Bankruptcy Consultant with Rust Omni, since June 2006. Prior to joining Rust Omni, she worked as a bankruptcy paralegal for over 10 years, including 5 years at a large national financial institution where she assisted creditors with monitoring their bankruptcy portfolios, cram downs, motions for relief, and foreclosure proceedings. Katie works closely with clients and their professionals in the gathering and processing of data for numerous case administration tasks, including the creditor matrix, schedules & statement of financial affairs, plan solicitation, claims reconciliation and document management.
