On November 5, 2012, American Suzuki Motor Corporation (the "Debtor") filed a voluntary petition in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California seeking relief under the provisions of Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code (the "Bankruptcy Code"). The Debtor continues to operate its business and manage its property as a debtor-in-possession.
On November 15, 2012, the United States Trustee appointed the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors (the "Committee") in the Debtor's bankruptcy case pursuant to Section 1102 of the Bankruptcy Code to represent the interests of all unsecured creditors in the Debtor's chapter 11 case. The Committee consists of seven members: Advantage Suzuki LLC, Ball Automotive Group - Ball Suzuki, Siltanen, Inc., Royal Suzuki, Suzuki of Wichita East, LLC, Planet Suzuki, and D2K, Inc.
The Committee has selected the law firm of Irell & Manella LLP as its counsel. Jeffrey M. Reisner is the principal attorney responsible for this engagement. This website was created to assist the Committee in providing information to creditors, as well as to solicit and receive comments from such creditors.
