Welcome Creditors

On September 5, 2012 (the "Petition Date"), Journal Register Company and twenty eight of its subsidiaries (the "Debtors") filed voluntary petitions in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware (the "Bankruptcy Court") seeking relief under the provisions of Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code (the "Bankruptcy Code"). The Debtors are represented by Young Conway Stargatt & Taylor, LLP and Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, LLP. The Debtors continue to operate their businesses and manage their properties as debtors-in-possession.

On September 13, 2012, the United States Trustee appointed the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors (the "Committee") in the Debtors' bankruptcy cases pursuant to section 1102 of the Bankruptcy Code. The Committee consists of five members: Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation, Communications Workers of America, Affinity Express, Inc., Xpedx, and Flint Group North America Corporation. The Committee has selected Lowenstein Sandler LLP as its counsel. Gerald C. Bender is the principal attorney responsible for this engagement. This website was created to assist the Committee in providing information to unsecured creditors, as well as to solicit and receive comments from such creditors.
